Louise Hall Biography

Louise Hall, Experimental Artist

 

Born in the mountains of central BC, Louise is now a long-time Calgary resident.  She has always enjoyed creating with her hands, and in 1993 she fulfilled a life-long dream to begin painting in watercolor.  Since 2000 she has been the owner of Leading Edge Art Workshops, which has allowed her to study with many internationally known instructors.

 

Pattern, color and texture are important focuses in her work and she likes to work with acrylic, collage and mixed media.  She uses a wide range of subject matter, including abstracts, florals and landscape.

 

Louise is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and is a founding member of the Passionate Painters Art Group.  She is also a member of the Calgary Sketch Club.  See more of her work on her website at www.louisehallart.com.

 

Artist's Statement:  I am an experimental artist, working in acrylic, collage and mixed media.  I am the most excited and engaged in my work when I don't know what the outcome will be.  I love to play and experiment and let the painting tell me what to do next.
